A male who attempted to rob a jogger on Sunday April 14th might want to re-think his career path after the jogger successfully defended himself using his marial arts training to thwart the attack and the robber was last seen hobbling away empty handed.
Just after 1 AM on Saturday January 19th a soccer net was lite on fire at Harry Whipper park. The park is located off of Hammond Bay Rd and near the Nanaimo Gospel church.

On Saturday February 11th at 1:30 AM a fire was reported at Uplands Elementary school ,located on Stronach Drive.
On Sunday December 11th , three men armed with guns burst into a home in the 2400 block of Rosstown Rd,tied up the occupants then demanded their money
On November 14th at 10 PM Marsh and Son's jewelry store located at 3992 Norwell Drive was broken into.
Quizno's located near Save On Foods at Country Club Mall was robbed on Sunday October 9th.
On Thursday August 4th thieves broke into the A&W located at 1815 Bowen Rd and made off with an ATM.
At 5:12 AM on the morning of Friday August 5th , Beaufort Pizza,located at 1438 Bowen Rd was broken into and a cash register stolen.
On Tuesday July 12th a home located in the 1800 block of Cedar Rd was broken into.
Three high end mountain bikes were stolen from the back of a pick up parked at Westwood Lake
Nanaimo RCMP are advising the public to be vigilant and on the look out after several more incidents of child luring have been reported..The suspect male has on different occasions attempted to entice the girls into his truck.
