On Friday November 16th three Starbucks outlets in Nanaimo reported thefts of Verissmo coffee machines.
The first reported theft took place at the Terminal Park Mall Starbucks at approximately 7:30 PM on Friday November 16th. In that incident a Caucasian male walked in, picked up two Verissmo coffee machines then walked out. A witness saw him getting into a waiting car but no plate or description was obtained.
Less than ten minutes later, a similar theft occurred at the University Mall Starbucks. Again, a white male came in, picked up two coffee machines then walked out. He was last seen walking westbound along Fifth St. Clothing descriptions were different in the two thefts but it is possible it was the same person involved.
One more theft was reported at the Country Club Mall Starbucks. It is believed it happened around 2 or 2:30 PM that day but there were no witnesses to it and staff didn't realize the coffee machines were missing until 9 PM.
The person or persons involved were male, Caucasian, mid 20's , approximately 5 ft 11 with a medium build. In the Terminal Park Starbuck's theft, the male was wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a ball cap. At the University Mall location he was wearing a blue jacket with white lettering on the sleeve, a white ball cap and jeans.
